EICMA 2019 – MV Agusta Superveloce 800 and Superveloce 800 Serie Oro

EICMA 2019 – MV Agusta Superveloce 800 and Superveloce 800 Serie Oro

After the limited edition MV Agusta announces the mass production Superveloce 800 and Superveloce 800 Serie Oro. Both bikes are being revealed during EICMA 2019.

After a year of being available as a special limited edition model, the Superveloce 800 will be available in MV Agusta dealerships by 2020. The Italian manufacturer announced the arrival of the standard version to be included as a 2020 model year model.

All the details on the Superveloce 800 take us back to the 37 world titles won by the Varese based brand.

The design team, led by renown Adrian Morton, created a bike that gets beautiful aerodynamic lines that take inspiration on competition bikes of the old days. The fairings were designed to hide all the fixing points and bolts, creating an effect that the bike was sculpted to perfection.

The Serie Oro gets special design features like aluminum rings around the lights, carbon fiber fairings and mudguards, a side fairing painted in metallic silver, and the fuel cap is made in machined aluminum with a leather strap.

Technically the Superveloce 800 stands out for its engine. It’s the inline three-cylinder engine we’ve seen on the F3 800. With MotoGP technology like the counter-rotating crankshaft, this engine develops 148 hp and 88 Nm of torque.

In the case of the Superveloce 800 Serie Oro the engine performance can be upgraded. For that the owner can use the special full exhaust and race ECU supplied with the bike. This will squeeze the power to a maximum of 153 hp! Not bad for a “retro” sportbike.

The ride-by-wire throttle has been reworked compared to the F3 800. MV Agusta opted to give the Superveloce throttle a smoother throttle response, or more progressive.

The rider will get the option to choose between one of four riding modes, use the up&down quickshift EAS2.1, or even select one of eight traction control levels (including Off).

Chassis is basically the same as the F3 800. But on the Superveloce 800 the front and rear subframe are specific. This also allowed MV Agusta to create a comfortable riding position. And the seats are covered in Alcantara for added “premium” feeling.

Speaking of comfort, MV Agusta also redesigned the rear suspension. The shock link is brand-new, making the ride smoother when riding on bumpy roads. The shock itself also has different settings compared to the one used on the F3 800.

The Superveloce 800 Serie Oro also gets extra equipment. Besides the track only exhaust and ECU, the Serie Oro gets cruise-control, drive chain from DID in gold, a custom bike cover, and a GPS sensor.

These bikes will be arriving in dealerships by March 2020.

With more than ten years as a motorcycle journalist, i enjoy everything that has to do with two-wheels. I'm a fan of sport bikes and i prefer riding them on a racetrack, but give me a road filled with corners and good asphalt and i'll be there to have some fun!
