Romain Febvre sustains broken femur at Swedish GP

Romain Febvre will remain in the hospital until his condition gets better.

Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP has just recently announced that rider Romain Febvre has sustained a broken left femur during the 16th round of the FIM Motocross World Championship in Uddevalla, Sweden.

The Frenchman’s energy was full-on during Race 2. Febvre took a holeshot onboard his YZ450M and took the lead for the first 13 laps. He then proceeded to crash when he was attempting a single-jump after changing his line to pass a rider that was one lap down. Febvre fell onto the ground on his left thigh. Immediately after, the team rushed Febvre to the trackside Medical Centre for observation.

Febvre was then transferred to Trollhättan hospital and underwent an operation on Monday. Currently, he has a rod surgically inserted into the bone. He will remain under observation for as long as possible. The hospital will release Febvre when he is fit enough to travel back to Luxembourg (his residence). Febvre will inevitably miss out on the final two rounds of the championship.

iMotorbike wishes Romain Febvre a speedy recovery.
