BMW S 1000 RR secures impressive results overall in various events

The BMW Motorrad Motorsport teams are on a roll as the BMW S 1000 RR has encountered numerous success in the various races recently.

British Superbike Championship

Tyco BMW Motorrad rider Christian Iddon finished in fourth place in the first Superbike race (BSB SBK). Smiths Racing’s Peter Hickman, on the other hand, secured 11th place. Teammate James Ellison came in twelfth. In race two, Hickman came in seventh place with Ellison at tenth. Iddon suffered an unfortunate crash. Taylor Mackenzie of Bathams Racing managed to secure another Superstock win to gain his second victory of the season. The Briton won the second Superstock race after securing runner-up to clinch podium for race one. Tyco BMW’s Andrew Reid finished third overall whereas Team IMR’s Alex Olsen came in eighth and seventh.

Alpe Adria International Motorcycle Championship

The Alpe Adria International Motorcycle Championship was held at the Pannonia-Ring in Hungary for the third round of the season. The BMW S 1000 RR managed to secure two podium wins. Karel Hanika of Fany Gastro BMW Motorrad clinched third place in the opening race.Racing4fun’s Nico Thöni trailed behind to come in fourth. Hanika’s teammate Ondřej Ježek came in fifth. Other BMW racers include Bartlomiej Moranski of Moranski Racing who claimed eighth place. In race two, it was Thöni who landed his RR on the podium in third place. Ježek finished fifth, ahead of Ireneusz Sikora (POL / BMW Sikora Motorsport) in sixth. Hanika failed to finish this race.

FIM European Superstock 1000 Cup

Michal Prášek of Rohac-Fejta Moto Racing secured a double podium during the weekend by coming in third. Michal Šembera of TME Racing chimed in at fourth place. Arnaud Friedrich of Team LRP Poland took his S 1000 RR passed the fifth place. In race two, Friedrich came home in fourth place with Šembera in sixth.

Spanish Superbike Championship

The third round took place in Valencia at the weekend. Carmelo Morales of BMW easyRace Team claimed his first podium of the year, finishing runner-up on his BMW S 1000 RR.

Italian Superbike Championship

The third event of the year was held at Imola (ITA). In the first of the two races, Matteo Baiocco of DMR Racing was the best-placed BMW rider in fourth. Team-mate Luca Vitali (ITA) followed him home in fifth place. Vitali then finished fourth in race two, ahead of Baiocco in fifth. Christiano Gamarino of Tutapista Corse was seventh in race two.

Italian National Trophy 1000

The Italian National Trophy 1000 (IT 1000) was also at Imola for its third race of the season. The best-placed BMW rider was Fabio Massei in seventh. He was followed over the finish line by Francesco Cocco and Federico Napoli of SB Corse in eighth and ninth.

Asia Road Racing Championship

Suzuka in Japan hosted round four of the 2019 Asia Road Race Championship (ARRC). Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman of Malaysia claimed another podium on his BMW S 1000 RR, run by the Onexox TKKR SAG team. He came home third in the first of the two races, before finishing seventh in race two.
