Harley-Davidson reveals the new Electra Glide Standard

Harley-Davidson reveals the new Electra Glide Standard

Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Standard

Iconic American brand Harley-Davidson has a new touring model for those riders that enjoy going for the extra mile, and the new Electra Glide Standard is here to make that happen, without relying upon premium features as on other Harley-Davidson models designed for travel.

The Electra Glide Standard is a valuable addition to the touring family, as it becomes the perfect option for riders looking for a touring bike but not the premium specs that make the price rise too much. With the famous Batwing front cowl, few chromed elements, Rocker, Cam and Derby engine covers in contrast against other blacked-out components, the Standard brings the Electra Glide to the bare essential of touring bikes.

With side-bags and aluminum wheels as standard equipment, the Electra Glide Standard doesn’t have the premium infotainment or sound system that Harley-Davidson is recognized for on their high-end models.

The engine is the praised Milwaukee Eight 107 V-twin, offering a great throttle response, yet smooth enough so the rider enjoys the ride on longer journeys and doesn’t get tired so easily. Thinking in ride quality, Harley opted to install some special components: massive 49 mm front fork with Dual Bending Valve technology, while at the back end a couple of hand adjustable shocks will surely add to the ride quality.

Brembo Reflex ABS brakes are standard, and you can even choose the color you like most… as long as it’s black! The Electra Glide Standard is only available in Vivid Black.

With more than ten years as a motorcycle journalist, i enjoy everything that has to do with two-wheels. I'm a fan of sport bikes and i prefer riding them on a racetrack, but give me a road filled with corners and good asphalt and i'll be there to have some fun!
