It’s probably one of the most eagerly awaited motorcycles from the Borgo Panigale based manufacturer, and now, through an interview conceded to Swiss website AcidMoto.ch, Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali has added new information regarding the new powernaked Ducati Streetfighter V4.
It is a fact that Ducati will use the V4 engine that was first used on the Panigale V4 in other models, and the first bike that comes to everyone’s mind is the return of the Streetfighter, considered to be one of the best-looking bikes from Ducati in recent years, but with the end of the L-twin engine, Ducati ceased production of that motorcycle and concentrated all their efforts in other models like the Multistrada and the Diavel, both now with the famous DVT system.
During the Geneva International Motor Show, where Ducati showed their latest Diavel 1260, Claudio Domenicali spoke to Swiss website AcidMoto, and at one point in the interview, the charismatic Ducati CEO was asked if Ducati planned to build a new Streetfighter soon.
Domenicali replied with another question: “Do you think Ducati should build such a bike?”.
The Swiss journalist conducting the interview explained that in Switzerland, and in most of Europe, riders are now changing from superbikes to naked motorcycles, but not any naked motorcycle. Riders want to ride high-performance naked motorcycles, and that’s why a new Streetfighter V4 should be created.
Hearing this explanation, Claudio Domenicali than added this: “Then, it will be ready as soon as possible!”.
When will we see the new Ducati Streetfighter V4? The best bet is that the bike is still going through secret in-house development tests, but in the next few months we should see the development prototype hit the road, and by then more details should be known, as well as the first spy shots of the bike released.
We expect that Ducati will officially reveal the Streetfighter V4 powernaked at the upcoming EICMA Milan motorcycle show, in early November.
