The biggest MV Agusta collection is up for sale!

The biggest MV Agusta collection is up for sale!
Bruno Gomes
February 5, 2019

MV Agusta F4 | The Bike Specialists | South Yorkshire

We know this is a bit on the short notice, since the sale is going to take place in Paris, France, at the Salon Retromobile next Saturday February 9, but this is a huge opportunity to grab yourself one (or more!) of the 90 MV Agusta’s that will be up for sale. Artcurial Motorcars will be selling what’s believed to be the biggest MV Agusta private collection in the world!

This collection is the work and love of a family that has been in love with MV Agusta motorcycles for generations, and it took them fifty years to gather and collect 90 examples of what considered some of the best two wheel machines the world as seen. According to the owners of the collection, they’ve got nearly every model MV Agusta built, with the oldest bike for sale dating back to 1945.

The biggest MV Agusta collection includes scooters, rare bikes like the 750S, prototypes that MV created on their Varese factory but never sold to the public, concept bikes, race bikes, sidecars, as well as some other bikes from the current model range, including the fabulous F4 Claudio Castiglioni, the last F4 ever made.

Artcurial Motorcars expects these bikes to sell anywhere from 3000€ up to 250.000€ (around RM14.000 to RM1.165.771), and with some of them being so rare, we have no doubt every bike will find a new owner.

As for the collection itself, it all started with the current owner’s uncle, who worked at the MV Agusta family garage, many years ago. He then decided to take things up a notch, and started racing the MV bikes on famous races like Giro d’Italia or the Milan-Tarento race, also in Italy, while at the same time he started the collection by buying what were, at the time, cheap MV Agusta used motorcycles.

Over time, the collection started to be too big, so he had to rent an old and empty warehouse so he could store the bikes properly, while he also asked ex-MV Agusta mechanics to help him restore each bike to its former glory. He didn’t look at the money he needed to spend to restore the bikes, he just wanted them perfect.

Each bike included in the biggest MV Agusta collection in the world comes with a certificate of authenticity from the MV Agusta Museum, and they’re all in running order, meaning the new owners are able to get the bikes and start riding and enjoying these beautiful Italian machines.

With more than ten years as a motorcycle journalist, i enjoy everything that has to do with two-wheels. I'm a fan of sport bikes and i prefer riding them on a racetrack, but give me a road filled with corners and good asphalt and i'll be there to have some fun!
