Jawa is back and in great style! Classic Legends Private Limited (CLPL) – a branch of Mahindra corporation -, that gained access to the rights to manufacture Jawa motorcycles in India, doesn’t know what to do since they’ve announced the arrival on the Indian market of three new Jawa bikes. Everyone is going crazy over these new Jawa’s, and they even had to take down their website because they couldn’t handle all the interested riders.
Originally a Czech brand, CLPL gained the right to the brand in 2016, and they’ve decided to restructure the brand and get a completely new lineup of models. The goal was to deliver around 90.000 motorcycles a year, all of them manufactured in India of course, but both the Jawa and Jawa Forty Two proved to be irresistible to riders and pre-orders have far surpassed the sales target set for this year.
Jawa says that all bikes are sold out until September, with the production being sold in just one month through their online booking system, responsible for taking down their website.
The first new Jawa’s are set to be delivered to their new owners by next March, powered by the same 293 cc single-cylinder liquid cooled engine, able to deliver around 30 hp and 28 Nm of torque. With a classic design, these bikes aren’t built to win any race or drag race, but instead, Jawa relies on their reliability to be used and abused by riders in any kind of terrain.
