They’re two of the most renowned racers of all times, on two and four wheels, and they both like to prove that they can also race other vehicles that not the ones they’re usually race during the season. Lewis Hamilton and Valentino Rossi will soon meet at the famous VR46 Ranch, in Rossi’s hometown Tavullia.
Speaking after the usual 100 km dirt track race held at his ranch, Valentino Rossi was asked by a journalist what he thinks of Lewis Hamilton trying the Yamaha R1 race bike in Jerez.
The Movistar Yamaha rider and nine times world champion said that “Lewis is a big fan of bikes, and we trade some messages occasionally. He always says that we, riders, are the real racers, but he exaggerates a bit. It’s normal F1 drivers get fascinated with bikes and vice-versa”, before launching an invitation to Hamilton: “Lewis should come here to the Ranch, we will try to organize it”.
It didn’t take long for Hamilton to answer to Rossi invitation.
Using his official Instagram account, the Mercedes-AMG driver confirmed he really loves bikes more than cars, and that he’ll visit the VR4 Ranch as soon as possible
“I’ve always liked more two wheels than four wheels. I always wanted a bike since I was a kid, but I’m still thankful for my dad to have bought me a kart. I have maximum respect and admiration for motorcycle riders. And yes, I would love to race bikes, but these guys are at another level, so I’ll keep testing my limits on a racetrack. Valentino, I need to go to the Ranch as soon as possible!”, wrote Lewis Hamilton.
When Lewis Hamilton visits the VR46 Ranch to try dirt track racing, the British champion will become one more racing legend to add up to the list of illustrious racers that have visited Valentino Rossi home track. Kevin Schwantz, Guy Martin or even Marc Marquez – back when he and Rossi were friends – are just some of the famous named that visited the Ranch.
