It’s not unusual that helmet manufacturers create special editions of some of their most popular helmets, and in the case of brands that sponsor some of the best motorcycle riders in the world, those special editions are something to feast our eyes on.
Japanese helmet manufacturer Shoei unveiled in Motegi a one off X-Spirit III, their helmet developed for racing use, and the helmet that Marc Marquez wears when riding his Repsol Honda.
To celebrate Marquez winning moment in Motegi, which allowed the Spanish rider to conquer his 7th world title and 5th in MotoGP, Shoei Japan came up with a new design for the X-Spirit III. The golden graphics were done by Dave Design, who got inspiration from classic 8 Bit videogames, the same theme chosen by Marquez to celebrate winning the MotoGP title in Motegi.
This one off X-Spirit III features a big number 1 on top, and a “Level 7” graphic at the back, both in gold, as well as Marquez personal sponsors.
Will we see this design being available to the public? We don’t know, but given that Shoei has already released special replicas of Marquez helmets in the past, if fans show great interest in buying this 2018 MotoGP title edition, then Shoei might agree to sell it to riders around the world.
