Royal Enfield will be launching two new motorcycles in India in November 14 and one of the models is the notorious Interceptor 650. One of the aims of the firm is to strike a balance in the pricing and demand and it is said that the Interceptor may be priced at Rs 2.7 lakhs (ex-showroom), which would make it the most affordable twin-cylinder motorcycle in India.
The model has arrived to dealerships in the nation and most have opened up their list for bookings for the new bike. It features a 648 cc SOHC parallel twin engine that is capable of producing 47 Bhp at 7,250 rpm and peak torque of 52 Nm at 5,250 rpm. The engine is mated to an all-new 6-speed gearbox that comes fitted with a slipper clutch as standard.
The next bike from the brand is the Continental GT 650. This would be more expensive than the former and is expected to be at least Rs 3 lakhs.
It also comes with a 648 cc parallel twin engine mated to a 6-speed gearbox. It also comes with a steel tubular, double cradle frame with 41 mm forks up front and twin coil-over shocks at the rear and the 18-inch 36-spoke alloy wheels that are shod with Pirelli Phantom Sportcomp tyres.
