While many – we included! – were expecting Aprilia to bring forward a brand-new generation of its iconic superbike the RSV4, which will be celebrating its 10th anniversary next year, the harsh reality has hit us hard when we just received the first photos and information about the 2019 RVS4 RR, and also the news about the Tuono V4 1100.
As for the RSV4 RR, the specs will remain unchanged next year, and the new features are just cosmetic according to the first information that has been released ahead of the official reveal that will happen tomorrow at the INTERMOT Cologne motorcycle show.
For next year Aprilia will be offering the RSV4 RR in two new colour schemes, both in matte, called “Rivazza grey” and “Arrabbiata black”. Both versions will come with red wheels. The more exotic version RSV4 RF will continue to feature a unique Superpole scheme, and better chassis components like forged wheels, Öhlins suspension units and the V4-MP multimedia platform as standard.
We also have to mention that Aprilia uses on both the RR an RF versions the same race-derived electronics package, the APRC, with all the electronic riding aids professional riders need nowadays to control the 201 hp that come out of the V4 engine.
As for the naked Tuono V4 1100, the biggest news we can see from the photo, not to mention the new colour schemes and graphics, is the use of electronic suspension units from Öhlins on the better equipped Tuono Factory.
We expect to get more details about the new 2019 Aprilia models in the next few days during the INTERMOT Cologne motorcycle show, so stay tuned to iMotorbike to get all the updates!
