After their first electric model, the Zeus, a muscular and powerful cruiser bike that derives from the combustion engine models that we used to see from Confederate Motorcycles, the next exotic creation from the American manufacturer Curtiss Motorcycles is Hera.
The name Hera was chosen because Curtiss wanted to stick with the Greek Gods theme, and Hera is the name of the wife of Zeus, so it makes sense they’ve decided to name their new creation Hera.
And what is Hera?
As we mentioned, it’s an all-electric motorcycle that keeps the cruiser style but takes it to another level. Curtiss says that Hera is an homage to the motorcycles produced in the early 20’s, with a long wheelbase and a low stance.
The second model that will arrive by 2020, will feature an E-Twin dual motor capable of delivering 168 hp. The battery pack was designed to look like the V8 engine that Glen Curtiss used back in 1907 to set, at that time, a land speed record of 219,35 km/h.
Speaking about the concept, Curtiss’ Chairman and CEO, Matt Chambers, said: “With Hera, we set out to create the world’s most luxurious motorcycle. Featuring the world’s first V8 battery architecture, an ultra-powerful, yet refined, E-Twin motor, and a 66-inch wheelbase, Hera will occupy a class all her own”.
A strong statement from Matt Chambers himself, but strong as Hera promises to be.
