Russian arms producers Kalashnikov have just recently unveiled two new electric motorcycles. According to sources, both of the bikes contain more of a rugged all-terrain look and trail bike inspired characteristics.
Kalashnikov is known for producing the AK-47 assault rifle, have worked hard and long to create these two new machines, namely UM-1 and SM-1. The newly produced bikes feature knobbly tyres and long-travel suspension, alongside bash plates and smatterings of crash protection. They are meant for off-road commuting.
The UM-1, or Urban Moto, has the ability of speeding up to 100km/h. It can also produce 15kw of power with a range of 150 kilometres. The bike also uses a chain drive. It caps a weight between 165kg and 245kg.
The SM-1 however, is able to achieve a top speed of 90km/h. It has a battery life of 150km. Less similar to its counterpart, the SM-1 uses a brushless DC motor with water cooling, a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, hydraulic shock and upside down forks.
