Riders enjoy coffee and pizza while getting motorcycle serviced at Moto Moda

Ever thought of being able to service your motorcycle and enjoy coffee or a slice of pizza at the same time? Well if you live in Nashville, this might just be possible for you. The Moto Moda business has combined both a restaurant and a shop to service motorcycles.

Jimmy Pruitt is the mastermind behind the idea of a mixed-use development in East Nashville. Pruitt is working with Andy Mumma, who is the current owner of the Nashville favorite Barista Parlor coffee-shop chain. The coffee shop will c0-habitate with a shop that sells and service motorcycles. It will all bear the Moto Moda brand.

The unique combination of such is to help the Moto Moda restaurant stand out considering Nashville has a very crowded restaurant scene. Pruitt and Mumma have hired Nick Dryden’s DAAD architecture firm to design the space.

“We also have some things in play that we’re not ready to announce yet, as far as who else is involved on the food side. That will come a little later,” Pruitt said.

According to Pruitt, the food-and-beverage side of the building will have longer hours, but patrons will be able to see the motorcycle shop through plexiglass.

“Andy and I have been discussing doing this completely different format. We were talking about this before the lease expired on my first incarnation of a brick-and-mortar store,” Pruitt added.

“There’s a real lack of multi-brand mechanics in town. Anyone who rides knows that. If you want your bike worked on in the height of the season, most places are backed up a month or more.”
