Cool down with the Feher ACH-1 helment

Cool down with the Feher ACH-1 helment
Bruno Gomes
August 24, 2018

While riding a motorcycle, there are many things that might upset you: pedestrians that don’t look before crossing the road, car drivers who don’t care about motorcyclists and drive like they own the road, and even ambient temperature can get your head boiling. In those moments you need to keep you head cool, and that’s exactly why Feher has a new helmet.

The ACH-1 is a helmet that has an air conditioning system to lower the temperature inside the helmet, and according to Feher, the difference in temperature can reach 15 degrees!

The integrated A/C unit is fitted at the back of the helmet, and connects to the battery of your motorcycle in order to work and pump cold air into the helmet. Feher used a technology similar to the ones used by Ferrari and Bentley, and the unique construction of the shell, in conjunction with their own Tubular Spacer Fabric, distributes the cold air evenly inside the helmet.

This way the rider won’t feel a blast of cold air directly in the face.

According to the company, the ACH-1 helmet isn’t too heavy. Despite our concerns with the A/C unit fixed at the back of the helmet, Feher used a Kevlar fiber mat reinforced fiberglass composite to manufacture the shell, and there are no exterior vents, so the weight of the helmet is only 1450 g, lighter than some modular helmets available on the market today and about 250 g lighter than an average full-face helmet.

And what about the price?

Well, Feher sells this really cool (literally!) helmet through their website, and the regular price is set at $599 US dollars with a $50 dollars discount as a special launch promo. This translates to RM2.452 , and if you want one please contact them directly for more information.

With more than ten years as a motorcycle journalist, i enjoy everything that has to do with two-wheels. I'm a fan of sport bikes and i prefer riding them on a racetrack, but give me a road filled with corners and good asphalt and i'll be there to have some fun!
