2018 Women’s World Record Race starts next Sunday

May 2, 2018

Faith Ahlers from Team USA is only one of four women trying for the Guinness World Record

Starting May 6, the 2018 Women’s World Record Race will see four women from four different countries compete to see who can ride their motorcycle around the world the fastest. This is an event organized by the Grizzly Racing Team, and it will make these four women ride around the globe for a distance of almost 25.000 km!

This adventure will decide who will be the one to claim the Guinness World Record for the fastest women to circumnavigate the globe on a motorcycle.

The women will navigate some of the most remote areas on earth without assistance from a support team or chase vehicle.

The route winds through a total of 16 different countries, with planned stops at various checkpoints including Ace Café locations in Orlando, Barcelona, Spain, London, England, Luzern, Switzerland, and Lahti, Finland. The race also includes other bucket list locales like the Tail of the Dragon, Paris, Gotthard Pass in the Swiss Alps, Moscow, and Seoul, South Korea, among others.

Isa Müller Team Switzerland

Although the route is the same, each participant will compete on one of four different motorcycles selected for the event.

Faith Ahlers will be riding an Indian Chieftain Dark Horse for Team USA, Swiss rider Isa Müller on a BMW S1000R for Team Switzerland, Austrian rider Anita Fastl aboard a Honda Africa Twin CRF1000L will try to get the record for Team Austria, and Russian rider Tatiana Igushina on a Ducati Scrambler 1100 will also try to win the event for Team Russia.

Anita Fastl – Team Austria
Tatiana Igushina – Team Russia

You can follow the 2018 Women’s World Record Race live through the live tracking feature – click here to access the live tracking -, and on May 6 the four women will start their journey.

Faith Ahlers will start from Minneapolis in the United States, Isa Müller starts in Zürich, Switzerland, Anita Fastl will start from Graz in Austria, while Tatiana Igushina will start from St. Petersburg in Russia.

With more than ten years as a motorcycle journalist, i enjoy everything that has to do with two-wheels. I'm a fan of sport bikes and i prefer riding them on a racetrack, but give me a road filled with corners and good asphalt and i'll be there to have some fun!
