MotoGP18 videogame arrives with a host of new features!

MotoGP18 videogame arrives with a host of new features!

Fans of racing videogames rejoice! Milestone Studios, the producer of the MotoGP videogame series, has announced that the new installment of the franchise will arrive on our consoles and PC’s on June 7th.

This year’s MotoGP18 arrives with a host of new features that surely will make the videogame fans really happy.

The new installment of the official Grand Prix World Championship is set for a complete makeover, and its producers say that it revolutionizes the way video gamers play motorcycle racing games with new physics and simulation like we’ve never seen before.

Speaking about the arrival of MotoGP18, Matteo Pezzotti, lead designer for Milestone Studios, said that “it will be the best and purest experience for MotoGP fans. MotoGP18 marks the arrival of the Unreal Engine to this franchise, a step forward in terms of technological innovation, that ensures an upgrade in visual quality, realistic lighting effects and a completely new physic. The game reproduces faithfully all the behavior of every different bike, reducing the gap between fiction and reality. Our goal was to offer to the gamers and MotoGP fans the best experience possible”.

So, what can we expect from MotoGP18 when we play it in Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch or PC?

We can expect to participate in any of the three World Championship categories like Moto3, Moto2 and of course MotoGP, but there’s also the chance to race in the Red Bull Rookies Cup, the trophy for the younger riders that want to enter GP racing at world level.

All the 19 tracks that make this year’s calendar have been scanned and reproduced at a 1:1 scale, and Milestone went a step further using drones and 3D scanning to capture all the details on each track.

For those gamers that think that MotoGP18 will be an easy game, think again, because Milestone Studios has raised the value of our choices in terms of tires chosen to use on track. We will need to pay attention to track temperature to make sure that our bike will have the correct tires for the race.

Then we will also be able to choose the aerodynamic package on the MotoGP prototypes, and make use of whatever upgrades our team makes available during the season, so we can get the extra edge over our rivals on track.

As for game modes, Milestone doesn’t have much to create since this is a racing game that needs to work, at least to some extent, like a simulation.

Game modes are Trajectory, Quick Race, Championship and Time Attack. But for those gamers that believe they are the best in the World, MotoGP18 offers a comprehensive online experience that is completed with the possibility of racing in the MotoGP eSports Championship, the official eGames league for MotoGP.

While we wait for MotoGP18 to arrive in stores, here’s the official trailer from Milestone Studios

With more than ten years as a motorcycle journalist, i enjoy everything that has to do with two-wheels. I'm a fan of sport bikes and i prefer riding them on a racetrack, but give me a road filled with corners and good asphalt and i'll be there to have some fun!
