Modenas to launch the Dominar 400 really soon!

Modenas to launch the Dominar 400 really soon!
Bruno Gomes
April 16, 2018

The Dominar 400 will be officialy launched 18th of April

With some sources reporting that the first units of the new Dominar 400 have already arrived at Malaysia, Modenas have just published on Facebook a video teasing the imminent launch of this medium size naked.

Modenas had already previewed the Dominar 400 late last year when some journalists had the opportunity to test ride the bike in India, and at the time it was said that the Dominar 400 would arrive in Malaysia during the first quarter of 2018.

So, by announcing on the video that this Wednesday 18th of April we should expect to see a new motorcycle, Modenas is fulfilling its promise and we can’t wait to test and review this urban naked bike that marks the return of Modenas to bigger machines in partenership with Bajaj Auto.

What do we know about the Modenas Dominar 400?

Well, the engine is a single cylinder with a displacement of 373 cc, and with triple spark and liquid cooling, the Dominar will be able to achieve good performance in acceleration while maintaining fuel consumption to a minimum. This single cylinder engine will be able to produce 34,5 hp and a torque of 35 Nm, and the rider will be able to enjoy a smooth ride through the use of a slick 6-speed gearbox that also has slipper-clutch function for easier corner entries.

Suspension will be setup to soak the bumps on the road, although the rider might ride the Dominar 400 in a sporty way without too much of a problem, while braking comes in the form of two brake discs, one for each axle, and brake calipers are sourced from ByBre, also manufactured in India.

ABS is standard equipment, for added safety.

Two LCD screens are installed on the Modenas Dominar 400

For those who like a more technological touch, the Modenas Dominar 400 will have two LCD screens showing all the relevant information we need to know about the bike, one screen installed in the fuel tank and the other were we usually find the dashboard on top of the front headlight.

The best of all is that again according to sources, Modenas will be pricing the new Dominar 400 at a competitive level, something around RM18.000 to RM20.000.

All this will be confirmed next Wednesday when Modenas launches the Dominar 400 in Malaysia.

With more than ten years as a motorcycle journalist, i enjoy everything that has to do with two-wheels. I'm a fan of sport bikes and i prefer riding them on a racetrack, but give me a road filled with corners and good asphalt and i'll be there to have some fun!
