Boon Siew Honda launches Malaysia’s first Honda BigWing centre in Setapak

Boon Siew Honda launches Malaysia’s first Honda BigWing centre in Setapak

Boon Siew Honda (BSH) has launched the nation’s first Honda BigWing centre in Setapak. The concept of the one-stop centre revolves around motorcycle models with an engine capacity of 250 cc and above. Said Honda BigWing centre features a “state-of-the-art showroom, service centre, parts and accessories corner and customer lounge.”

The Honda BigWing centre sits on a 5,535 sq built-up area and features a total of 3 service bays. “Last week, we celebrated the launching of Honda BigWing with more than 100 customers in conjunction with the MotoGP Winter Test. They were really excited with track experience in Sepang circuit and meet with world champion MotoGP riders. To BigWing customers, we will provide a variety of extraordinary activities,” said Nobuhide Nagata, managing director and CEO of BSH.

According to BSH, the list of activities in the near future include international convoy events and gatherings. Furthermore, customers will get to enjoy complimentary Honda BigWing membership which entitles them to a minimum 10% discount on Honda genuine parts and accessories, special insurance packages, motorcycle breakdown assistance as well as the aforementioned activities due to be held all year round.

Potential customers who find themselves based a tad too far from Setapak can rest assured as BSH has stated plans to open an additional 3 more BigWing outlets in 2018. The locations for the upcoming trio of centres are Penang, Selangor and Johor.

Aside from the actual launch of Malaysia’s first Honda BigWing centre, BSH also took the opportunity to preview 2 upcoming models for the local market. The first on the list is the Honda X-ADV, an adventure scooter if there ever was such a thing. The other is a more familiar (and iconic) model, the Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin.

With the preview of said models, BSH, along with more incoming models, have stated that it intends to target a 30% increase of sales of large capacity motorcycles – that should translate to a figure of 1,600 units, give or take.

As this is a preview, official prices will have to wait till the launch gambit but BSH did mention that the Honda X-ADV will be priced lower than RM70k and should arrive in April 2018. As for the larger Africa Twin, BSH has stated that it should be priced between RM80k to RM90k with its launch scheduled for May this year.
