Yamaha stuns crowd with brand new self-riding bike Motoroid in Las Vegas

Yamaha has displayed its new riderless motorcycle called ‘Motoroid’ in the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week and the response was fairly amazing.

Kinji Asamura summoned the bike to his side, fascinating the crowd with its wonders. The bike managed to balance its position even when it was gently pushed over. With a soul of its own, the bike displayed brought futuristic aspects to reality. The wonders of technology at its best.

“The motor bike is the recent past, and the Motoroid is the future,” Yamaha spokesman John Boreland told AFP.

“The object is to see what lessons can be learned to connect machine to human more effectively.”

The bike relies on pre-programmed routes to navigate itself. As much as it has a soul, it does not have a mind on its own to travel wherever it wants to go. Besides balancing on its own, the Motoroid has the ability to recognize riders and be summoned with a wave.

“Wings on the back of the seat were designed with the help of a psychologist to gently squeeze a rider’s lower back in a sort of reassuring caress at potentially perilous high speeds” Boreland said.

“Somewhere along the line, this will all meld together so you’ll be part of the bike and it will figure things out for you,” Boreland added.
