The 2018 Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb will be having a great lineup of competitors on June 24 for the 96th running of the hill climb. The event is brought to you by Gran Turismo.

The lineup will consist of drivers and riders hailing from the United States, Romania, Sweden, Finland, Austria, Ireland, France, Japan, Italy, Australia, Costa Rica, Great Britain, Scotland, Belgium, Brazil, Germany and Canada.

“The fans of this historic race will really embrace the competitive field for the 96th Running of the Race to the Clouds,” said PPIHC Executive Director Megan Leatham.

“We have many of the legends of the race on board along with a roster of rookies from the USA and many nations that will generate incredible interest.”

Among the riders making it into the lineup is Davey Durelle. He is one of the top notch riders and in the PPHIC and has a history of 17 class victories. Not to mention, he has a 2016 Colorado Motorsports Hall of Fame induction and holds the current Pikes Peak record in the Pikes Peak Lightweight Division (10:35.354).

Chris Fillmore on the other hand broke the motorcycle class record and championed the Pikes Peak Heavyweight Motorcycle class during the event last year as a rookie. Codie Vahsholtz puts up a similar game but with three victories since his debut in 2011 as a rookie. He also managed to carve his amazing record in the Pikes Peak 250cc class with 11:24.792 in 2013.

If you think that’s it, you’re wrong. There is also Greg Chicoine on the list with his remarkable five championship titles on the Peak in eight different divisions on his Kawasaki within 18 years. The spark is still there considering he was runner up last year in the Pikes Peak Lightweight Division at 11:10.144. Will he be able to polish up his records this year?

Apart from that, the rookies to look out for this year include Mick Donovan (won the Irish championship in 2008), Akinori Inoue (well accomplished endurance and road rider), Leandro Fernandez Rad (Super Sport 600cc Master Champion) and Cory West (Superbike Rookie of the Year in 2004).
