The EICMA aftermath definitely lingered for more than a week and the hype was insane. New bikes and concepts were revealed but just in case anyone did not notice, there were a few low key announcements from the event, including special collaborative watches from Ducati and Indian Motorcycle and their partners.

Ducati has partnered up with Italian counterpart Locman for the special watch.

“Locman’s unique spirit makes it perfect for a dynamic partnership that combines the technological excellence of two companies, both leaders in their respective sectors,” said Alessandro Cicognani, Ducati’s Licensing and Corporate Partnership Director.

“The products we’re co-developing interpret, through design and innovative materials, the uniqueness of the Ducati brand.”4

Indian Motorcycle on the other hand, struck up their partnership with Swiss brand Baume & Mercier for their special watch. The watch is deemed to be revealed in par with the 50th anniversary of Burt Munro’s legendary Bonneville land speed record.

Their watch will be based on the subtle Clifton Club by the brand. It features Burt’s lucky number 35 on the chronograph seconds counter. On the bezel of the tachymeter scale is the number 184 which is his speed record.

To solidify Indian Motorcycle’s initiative, the ‘I’ typeface will be on the second hand and the back of the watch will see Indian’s famous headdress logo and edition number. The watch strap is said to be made of calfskin leather in which the colour pays tribute to the typical bikes of Indian Motorcycle.

Only 1967 units of this watch will be made available, to recognize the year Burt sealed his impressive record.
