Zero Motorcycles introduce new Z-Force batteries for 2018 lineup

Zero Motorcycles, top gun in the electric motorcycles industry, has plans for a fascinating 2018 lineup. What makes is so unique is its new Z-Force batteries, as it will provide at least 10 percent longer range.

Namely the ZF14.4, ZF7.2 and ZF3.6, the ability of the batteries can be further enhances with the range-extending Power Tank and its recharge can be sped up with the new Charge Tank.

The ZF14.4 comes as standard in the 2018 SR and DSR models. It is said to replace the current ZF13.0 but the power figures remain unchanged, which is 70 hp (52 kW) peak power at 3,500 rpm, and 116 lb-ft (157 Nm). However, the bikes are said to be heavier by 6 lb (2.7 kg).

Besides the batteries, Zero had announced that the bike’s firmware can now be updated through the smartphone app that came out last year. Riders can keep their software up to date without the need to consult a dealer.
