Honda has just recently unveiled its redesigned Super Cub 110 and Super Cub 50 and also announced that its production has surpassed an amazing 100 million this month.

One of the main attributes to the astounding achievement is the Super Cub, which is been gaining popularity since its production. The Super Cub was introduced in 1958 as the SC100 and took until 2005 for the brand to build 50 million of them. Therefore, to see 100 million in a month is definitely a great, leaping improvement.

The bike is redesigned to look more like the original model. The 50cc and 100cc bike look identical and there are also ‘Pro’ versions of the bikes with a basket in front and smaller 14 inch wheels alongside a larger luggage rack. The LED headlights and new instruments join the bandwagon and got themselves new styles too.

Despite that, internally the bikes are the same with their air-cooled 49cc and 109cc single-cylinder engines.  The Super Cub will be making its appearance in the Tokyo Motor Show and also reveal a new generation Cross Cub.

“Honda Super Cub, which was created in Japan, fulfills the expectations of our customers and embodies Honda’s passion to serve people worldwide with the joy of expanding their life’s potential. As a result, the Super Cub series has long been enjoyed by customers all over the world and was able to reach the 100 million-unit milestone in worldwide cumulative production. Honda will continue to evolve in keeping with changes of the times and strive to offer products that go beyond the expectations of our customers,” said Takahiro Hachigo, President & Representative Director, Chief Executive Officer of Honda Motor Co., Ltd.
