Triumph Street Triple RS Has Arrived in Malaysia!
We take a peek at Triumph’s latest stormer
Since it’s launch in 2007, the Triumph Street Triple has been the standard of a motorcycle that embodies useable power, wide-range accessibility, superb handling and most of all, endless entertainment.
Triumph has updated the model in the years following its debut, but the engine size has always remain unchanged. Well, Triumph has unveiled the successor to the long-running 675cc engine.
Although it’s still officially called the Street Triple, the engine has size been hopped up to 765cc. Retrospectively, “hopped up” isn’t the right term, because Triumph didn’t just stop at plonking in a bigger engine. Instead, the new Street Triple has been updated with almost everything except a NoS button.
The Street Triple RS in these pictures made its debut to accolades around the world. Well, we’re here to bring the great news, because it has arrived in Malaysia.
First up, the engine now punches out 121bhp and 77Nm of torque, pushing at only 166kg. Triumph also updated the suspension: Fully-adjustable Showa BPF forks up front and an Ohlins STX40 shock handles the rear duties. The front brakes now utilize Brembo M50 Monobloc 4-piston calipers. The main difference is the electronic suite. There is now 5 ride modes – Track, Sport, Street, Rain, and Rider Customizable – to suit every riding condition. The all-new 5″ TFT display is also fully customizable to whichever style suits your fancy or ease of obtaining information. The switchgear on both handlebars have also been duly updated with large buttons that are easy to reach and distinguish even with thick gloves on. The same goes for the brake and clutch levers, too, as they are now adjustable for both reach and tension!
From what we’ve seen, the Triumph Street Triple RS is not only practical for everyday use and touring, but also track ready. And at just RM 66,900, it’ll be one hard – if not unbeatable – package! How’s that for a bang for your buck?
