AJS Motorcycles has stepped into the crowded 125cc naked bike segment with the launch of its new JS125-X. This learner-legal machine blends modern styling, accessible performance and a very competitive price.

Landing in UK showrooms from December 2025, the new single-cylinder model comes with a price tag of £3,149 (approx. RM18,900.00) on the road. This makes it firmly within reach of new riders and commuters seeking a stylish yet affordable first motorcycle. While its design will remind many of Honda’s CB125R, AJS is positioning the JS125-X as a value-driven alternative rather than a direct rival.

Power comes from a liquid-cooled, four-valve SOHC engine tuned to the A1 licence limit of 14.8bhp, paired with a six-speed transmission. It meets the latest Euro5+ emissions standards and promises strong efficiency, with a claimed fuel consumption figure of 97mpg. Combined with its 10-litre fuel tank, that translates into a potential range of over 200 miles between fill-ups. This is a clear plus for daily commuting.

The chassis setup keeps things simple and rider-friendly. An 800mm seat height makes the bike approachable for shorter riders and beginners. The ABS on both wheels provides a safety net for new motorcyclists still developing braking confidence. Suspension consists of upside-down forks at the front and a rear monoshock. This gives the JS125-X a modern look and competent handling credentials for urban riding.

AJS equips the JS125-X with a modern feature set, including full LED lighting as standard, and offers it in red, white or blue paint schemes.

In a market dominated by established Japanese brands, the JS125-X stands out primarily on price and accessibility. It offers the core ingredients that new riders want, legal power output, modern styling, manageable ergonomics and strong economy, without stretching budgets.

For learners and commuters who like the naked-bike look but want something a little more affordable than the segment’s big-name options, AJS’s latest 125 could prove a timely and tempting arrival.
