It has been nearly a year since Honda teased its very first in-house electric motorcycle. Now, the Japanese giant has finally released fresh visuals of the upcoming machine in action, and true to its name, the “EV Fun Concept” looks like it will live up to the hype.
From Prototype to Reality
First unveiled as a prototype at EICMA 2024, the EV Fun Concept is a middleweight roadster that has since undergone rigorous road testing across Europe throughout 2025. The latest images show the bike in camouflaged livery, hinting that Honda is edging closer to a production-ready release.
Styling cues are unmistakably influenced by the CB500 Hornet, with a sharp front end, bar-end mirrors, and a slender frame. Notably, the bike features a single-sided swingarm, a detail that underlines Honda’s intent to balance style and engineering sophistication.

Engineering Pedigree
The project is helmed by Masatsugu Tanaka, a Honda veteran of over two decades whose résumé includes icons like the CBR600RR, CBR1000RR Fireblade, and Africa Twin. Under the development concept of “Be the Wind,” Tanaka explains that the EV Fun aims to deliver a smooth, quiet ride while giving riders a unique feeling of flow and unity with the machine.
Features and Technology
Despite the camouflage, several components stand out:
- Suspension & Braking: Inverted forks, monoshock rear, and dual discs with Nissin radial callipers.
- Drivetrain: Belt drive system for smoother power delivery.
- Display & Charging: A modern TFT dash and a cleverly integrated charging port in the pseudo gas tank.

One of the biggest highlights is fast-charging capability. Unlike many mid-tier e-motorcycles that rely on slower Level 2 charging, Honda equips the Fun Concept with CCS2 automobile-grade quick charging and a fixed battery pack. This could be a game-changer, reducing downtime and making electric motorcycling more practical for daily use.
Range expectations remain unconfirmed, but the test visuals suggest more than 120 miles (193 km) on a full charge, putting it in the same ballpark as Harley-Davidson’s LiveWire S2 lineup.
According to Tanaka, Honda has carried out comprehensive trials in Europe to fine-tune the bike’s performance, charging systems, and usability.
Launch Timeline
Honda has confirmed that more details about the EV Fun Concept will be revealed on September 16, 2025, with strong indications that the production model could debut by the end of this year. A showcase at EICMA 2025 also looks highly likely.
