Red Bull Romaniacs, one of the most demanding hard enduro events in the world, returns this year from July 22 to 26. Held annually in Sibiu, Romania, and the surrounding Southern Carpathian Mountains, the event brings together elite off-road riders from across the globe for five days of relentless terrain, technical riding, and physical punishment.
Now in its 23rd edition, the event kicks off with the Prolog, a time trial through an urban obstacle course in the streets of Sibiu. Thereafter, it’s four consecutive days of off-road competition. There, riders will navigate some of the most rugged and unpredictable landscapes in Europe.
Schedule:
- Prolog (Urban Time Trial) – July 22
- Off-Road Day 1 – July 23
- Off-Road Day 2 – July 24
- Off-Road Day 3 – July 25
- Off-Road Day 4 – July 26
The route takes riders through forests, riverbeds, steep climbs, and rocky descents, with GPS navigation required throughout. Riders can spend between six to ten hours a day in the saddle, facing natural obstacles that test both physical endurance and mental focus.
Although Red Bull Romaniacs was previously part of the FIM Hard Enduro World Championship, this year’s edition runs independently. The winner will still carry a major title as the Extreme Enduro Rallye World Champion.
The event attracts a mix of top-tier professional riders and ambitious amateurs. All of them share a common goal: to finish one of the hardest enduro races in the world. For many, completing the course is a greater reward than a podium finish.
With its dramatic mountain scenery, punishing terrain, and unique race format, Red Bull Romaniacs continues to stand out as a cornerstone event in the hard enduro calendar. The 2025 edition promises more of the same brutal, beautiful chaos that has defined the race for over two decades.
