Royal Enfield has roared into the new financial year with a major milestone under its belt: over one million motorcycles sold globally. For the financial year ending March 31, 2025, the iconic Indian brand reported 1,009,900 units sold. This marks an impressive 11% growth from the previous year. March alone saw sales spike by 34%, reaching 101,021 units, underscoring the company’s accelerating momentum.

This achievement not only cements Royal Enfield’s dominance in the mid-size motorcycle segment but also highlights the continued appeal of its retro-modern range — bikes that blend timeless styling with everyday usability at accessible price points.

Affordable Icons Leading the Charge

Unsurprisingly, it’s the entry-level and value-driven models that are driving much of this success. Chief among them is the Hunter 350. It is a compact, city-friendly machine that has captured the hearts of younger riders across the globe. Since its launch in 2022, the Hunter 350 has sold a remarkable 500,000 units. Thus, positioning it as a backbone of Royal Enfield’s volume strategy.

On the premium end, the Super Meteor 650, introduced in 2023, has carved out its own fanbase. The cruiser has racked up 50,000 units in cumulative sales, proving that Royal Enfield’s reach extends across both entry-level and higher-displacement segments.

Leadership Speaks: A Milestone Year

B. Govindarajan, Managing Director of Eicher Motors and CEO of Royal Enfield, hailed the year as “extraordinary”, saying:

“Crossing the 1 million annual sales milestone, our highest ever, is a testament to how far we’ve come. From a time when 50,000 motorcycles a year felt like a big win to now setting new global benchmarks in the mid-size segment, our journey has been incredible.”

Govindarajan also pointed to the overwhelming reception of models like the Bullet Battalion Black and the new Classic 350, alongside the company’s ability to respond quickly to customer feedback by introducing new variants.

Global Growth & Innovation

2024-25 was not just about numbers. Royal Enfield continued to expand its global footprint with new operations in Thailand and Bangladesh, increasing accessibility and localization in key Asian markets.

It also made a bold step toward electrification, unveiling the Flying Flea, its first electric concept — a nod to its rich legacy and a sign of things to come.

Adding to the year’s accolades, Royal Enfield was ranked highest in initial quality in the J.D. Power 2025 India Two-Wheeler Initial Quality Study, a significant endorsement of the brand’s craftsmanship and reliability.

Looking Ahead: 125 Years and Just Getting Started

As Royal Enfield approaches its 125th anniversary, the brand shows no signs of slowing down. With plans for four new models, continued expansion into electric mobility, and growing international operations, the company is poised to shape the future of motorcycling while staying true to its classic roots.

The million-unit milestone is not just a number — it’s a signal. Royal Enfield is no longer just a heritage brand; it’s a global force. And if this year is any indication, the ride ahead is going to be one for the history books.
