If you’ve ever dreamt of owning a motorcycle brand, now might be your shot — because nearly every piece of Energica is up for sale. From its high-performance electric bikes and prototype models to the very desks and coffee makers used by its team, everything must go.
The Italian electric motorcycle manufacturer, once a pioneer in the industry, entered judicial liquidation last year. Energica was known for its powerful battery packs, sleek Italian styling, and a brief but proud stint as the sole supplier of the MotoE World Cup from 2019 to 2022. But by late 2024, the company’s finances could no longer keep pace with its ambitions.
Now, in what can only be described as a complete corporate fire sale, the Italian government has listed Energica’s entire portfolio — including its intellectual property, branding, manufacturing equipment, and motorcycle inventory — for auction. The starting bid? Just $3.5 million.

What’s Included in the Sale?
The scope of the sale is staggering. Beyond the IP and brand name, the auction includes:
- Prototype and production motorcycles, including models like the Ego Corsa, Eva Ribelle, SS9, ECRP, and Experia. Some are fully assembled, others in various stages of completion.
- Police-specific development bikes, mock-ups, and display units.
- Factory equipment like motorcycle dynos, vertical storage systems, wheel alignment tools, hydraulic presses, and more.
- Office and facility contents, right down to whiteboards, label printers, and even the coffee maker.
- Spare parts inventories, from suspension systems and fairings to ABS units, wheels, and full frame assemblies.
According to the liquidation document, the tangible assets alone are worth approximately €660,758 (about RM3,436,000). This does not include the vast catalog of spares or the real value of the brand’s legacy.

A Brand Worth Reviving?
Founded in 2009, Energica wasn’t a flash in the pan. It was a serious player, widely respected for pushing boundaries in the electric motorcycle space long before the big manufacturers caught on. Its racing pedigree, stylish designs, and industry relationships add significant weight to the auction beyond the physical assets.
As Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of Dorna (MotoGP’s rights holder), noted when Energica exited MotoE, the company played a pivotal role in bringing electric performance to the forefront of two-wheel motorsport.
But after losing the MotoE contract to Ducati in 2023 and grappling with mounting financial difficulties, Energica’s story took a turn. By October 2024, it was forced into liquidation proceedings.

A Rare Opportunity
Whether you’re a startup or an industry player, the Energica auction offers a rare chance to own a complete electric motorcycle brand — from bikes to branding and tools to networks.
As of now, no buyers have stepped forward. But with the auction open and the price surprisingly low for what’s on offer. That might not be the case for long.
In short, Energica’s story isn’t over yet. It might just be waiting for the right person to turn the key and ride it into a new chapter.
