Harley-Davidson Asia and Didi Group celebrated a thrilling win at Rimba Raid 2024. Their team, Harley-Davidson Malaysia, excelled in Class A (engine cc>1000cc) with the Pan America 1250. The off-road motorcycle race occurred from September 25 to 29 at Tasik Raban Resort in Lenggong, Perak. This annual event featured 160 racers from 11 countries, covering 374 kilometres of challenging terrain.
The Pan America 1250 proved its unmatched performance and durability. Harley-Davidson’s participation demonstrated its commitment to building adventure-ready motorcycles capable of conquering extreme environments. The Pan America 1250 and Pan America 1250 Special showed incredible power and versatility, standing out as top contenders in the race.
Pan America Team Success at Rimba Raid 2024
The Pan America team delivered impressive results. Pisannu “Bin” Chimma from Thailand finished 6th in Class A and secured first place in the Masterclass A 19/17 Tire category. He became the most successful Thai racer at this year’s event. His teammate, Malaysia’s Hazrul Khan, finished 10th in Class A, earning the team two top-10 spots.
Mark O’Flaherty, Managing Director of Asia Emerging Markets & India at Harley-Davidson, expressed his pride in the team’s success. “Our victory at Rimba Raid is a proud moment for Harley-Davidson. It highlights the Pan America 1250’s rugged durability and performance,” he said.
Juan Chow Wee, Executive Director of Didi Group, shared similar sentiments. “Our riders demonstrated incredible endurance, conquering tough terrains with skill. Their achievements reflect Harley-Davidson’s adventurous spirit.”
The Riders: A Blend of Experience and Determination
The Pan America race team consisted of three standout riders. Muhammad Naqid, 36, from Malaysia, brought 16 years of racing experience to the event. This was his second consecutive year at the Rimba Raid. Hazrul Khan, 34, with only two years of experience, quickly made a name for himself. He finished in the top 10 this year, showcasing his remarkable speed.
Pisannu Chimma, 41, from Thailand, secured 6th place in Class A for the second consecutive year. His victory in the Masterclass A 19/17 Tire category highlighted his steady improvement in the race.

The Rimba Raid 2024 offered more than just competition. Racers had a chance to engage with Captain Nik, a prominent figure in the adventure-riding community. This 1-on-1 session provided riders with invaluable tips on navigating challenging terrains.
