In the fifth episode of the Ducati World Première web series 2024, Ducati introduced the new Hypermotard 698 Mono to the public, marking the debut of Ducati’s first single-cylinder Supermotard bike. The Hypermotard 698 Mono is specifically designed to provide an exhilarating riding experience on both tracks and city streets. The aim is to turn every ride into a thrilling adventure. Ducati achieved this goal by incorporating advanced technical solutions derived from the world of the Panigale. The updates include the engine, electronics, and chassis – creating a motorcycle that delivers unforgettable emotions for riders.
The Hypermotard 698 Mono is engineered for outstanding performance on asphalt with the new Superquadro Mono engine. It is the most sophisticated and high-performance single-cylinder road engine ever developed by Ducati. With a remarkable maximum power of 77.5 hp and a peak rotation speed of 10,250 rpm, this engine sets new standards in its category. The electronic package of the Hypermotard 698 Mono is unparalleled. The model comes with various riding modes and advanced features. Riders get the benefit of ABS Cornering, Ducati Traction Control, Ducati Wheelie Control, Engine Brake Control, Ducati Power Launch, and Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) Up/Down.
In terms of design, the Hypermotard 698 Mono boasts a Supermotard racing aesthetic combined with Ducati’s signature clean lines and attention to detail.
The motorcycle features a slim and sleek profile. Other visible elements are its high and flat seat, a high front mudguard and a sharp tail. The distinctive double silencers are mounted at the top. The bike also incorporates advanced LED lighting technology, including a compact LED headlight with a unique “C” light profile.
The Hypermotard 698 Mono offers outstanding handling and control, thanks to its lightweight and compact chassis, weighing 151 kg without fuel.
The bike features a steel trellis frame, cast rims, and a fully adjustable Marzocchi fork. The front braking system utilizes a specially designed 330 mm disc with a Brembo M4.32 radial calliper, ensuring exceptional stopping power.
For riders looking to enhance their riding experience further, Ducati offers a range of accessories. This includes a Termignoni racing exhaust, racing seat, motard footrests, protective covers, carbon fibre components, and machined aluminium parts. Additionally, Ducati has introduced a dedicated clothing line for the Hypermotard 698 Mono. Riders can now opt for a versatile jacket, certified sweatshirt, specialized boots, and sports shoes.
The Hypermotard 698 Mono will be available in dealerships from January in the classic Ducati Red. The bike will come with a powder-coated frame. The RVE version however features unique graphics, a black frame, and a DQS quickshifter as standard. Ducati also offers a version with limited power for younger riders with an A2 license, delivering 43.5 hp at 6,250 rpm and 5 kgm at 5,750 rpm.
