The year 2023 is no doubt a meaningful year for Kawasaki as the Japanese motorcycle brand will be celebrating its 70th anniversary.
Kawasaki made its humble mark in the motorcycle world in 1953. After the end of the 2nd World War, the manufacturer began to produce engines under the name ‘Kawasaki Machine Works’. Since then, Kawasaki has grown to become a big name in the two-wheeler world globally.
When it comes to motorcycles, we can guarantee that nobody forgets the name “Kawasaki”.
As of today, Kawasaki motorcycles are sold in more than 90 countries around the world. Thanks to Edaran Modenas Sdn Bhd (EMOS), we can continue to see the works of the legendary brand in Malaysia.
To celebrate the anniversary, Kawasaki will hold two major events this year. The Kawasaki Good Times World will be taking place in Kobe, Japan whereas the Kawasaki USA Heritage Hall will be held in California starting this September.
These two programs will feature the history of the beginning of Kawasaki’s business in Japan and then around the world.
Kawasaki introduced the first motorcycle engine in 1953 with the “KE-1” engine before introducing multi-purpose KF4 gasoline engines four years later.
Later in 1960, Kawasaki started mass production of motorcycles as a result of cooperation with Meguro Manufacturing Company. The next big deal that became a global sensation was the popular Kawasaki B8 model in 1963. The B8 model managed to record first to sixth place in the 125cc class motorcycle race in Anonogahara, Japan.
Up till today, Kawasaki is quite an impressive name in the motorcycle world. Not only has it made a lasting impression in its production of regular commutes, but it has also shaken the world championship stage, especially in the Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK) through the ZX-10R machine.
