Suzuki began its new step into the modern era with the launch of several brand-new models including the GSX-S1000, GSX-S1000GT and most recently the GSX-8S and V-Strom 800DE.
While the GSX-S1000 fills the ‘hypernaked’ motorcycle segment, the GSX-S1000GT competes with the ‘grand tourer’ segment. Although both belong to different groups, the GSX-S1000 and GSX-S1000GT feature the same 999cc 4-inline engine.
Suzuki will continue expanding their steps this time to challenge the ‘sport tourer’ segment which is dominated by motorcycles such as Kawasaki Versys 1000, Yamaha Tracer 9 GT and BMW F 1000 XR.
Based on the latest ‘spy shot’ photos, Suzuki is undergoing tests on a brand-new motorcycle. Although the motorcycle features an all-black ‘wrap’, some features clearly refer to Suzuki motorcycles.
First of all, the layout of the front LED lights is similar to the Suzuki GSX-S1000 and GSX-8S, and even the rear lights are the same as those found on the V-Strom 1050 DE. Then the engine part clearly refers to the 999cc in-line four platforms taken from the GSX-R1000 K5 (2005-2008).
Also visible is a premium brake package from Brembo with a dual-channel ABS system.
At the moment there is no official information about this brand-new model but what is certain is that the GSX-S1000T will most likely make an official appearance later this year with EICMA 2023 expected to be the event of choice.
