After leaving Tech3 KTM, Iker Lecuona is virtually out of the MotoGP World Championship in 2022. He does not want to return to Moto2. The Superbike World Championship, on the other hand, still has a number of openings, including one on Honda’s official team – Team HRC.

In response to a question about whether taking Álvaro Bautista place at Honda might be an option, Iker Lecuona neither confirmed nor denied the possibility, but stressed that the one thing he knows is that he won’t descend to Moto2:
– I can’t say anything. […] . I have to talk to my manager, see and decide where to go. What is clear is that I’m not going to Moto2 because I think you have to have the mentality to go to Moto2 and I don’t have it. That’s why I don’t go where I don’t want to be. If I have to leave the championship, I’ll leave, there’s no harm, if I have to stay, I’ll stay.
