Many brands use the image of the most famous people in the world to promote their products, and motorcycle brands are no exception. In this case, Triumph motorcycles have now opted to enlist the services of known former racer James Toseland.
Two-time World Superbike champion and former MotoGP racer, James Toseland is well known around the world and Triumph wants to capitalize on that to promote their new products and even their racing projects. The fact that the British manufacturer will deliver the new Moto2 engines, the three cylinders 765 cc derived from the Street Triple naked, is the starting point of his partnership.
Toseland will become the new Triumph motorcycles brand ambassador, promoting their Moto2 project on circuits around the world. He already started his ambassador mission showing what the Triumph Moto2 bike can do, doing some exhibition laps.
In the future, we believe James Toseland will also help Triumph not only continuing the development of the Moto2 engine, but he also might get his expertise to good use on the development of new road going motorcycles Triumph wants to release in the future.
As for Carl Fogarty, also a very well-known former racer and linked with Triumph for a long time, there’s no word if he will continue his role as brand ambassador. In fact, Fogarty is now being used by British brand CCM to develop their bikes, and they’ve even shown at EICMA Milan motorcycle show the new CCM Spitfire Foggy edition, a specially built version based on the 600 cc Spitfire platform.
