During the next EICMA Milan motorcycle show, BMW Motorrad will unveil the brand-new BMW Motorrad S1000RR superbike with which the German manufacturer hopes to get back to the top of the superbike segment.
But the BMW Motorrad S1000RR has been under everyone’s radar for quite some time now, and the spy photos and schematics have left BMW Motorrad with a bike that isn’t a secret at all.
But until now, all we had were insider information’s and rumours, nothing official. That was until now….
According to British website MoreBikes, the official catalogue for the 2019 BMW Motorrad S1000RR was leaked before EICMA, and they’ve got their hands on it and published it on their website. In the photo of the catalogue we are able to confirm much of the rumours: the engine gets more power up to 2017 hp, and the new variable valve timing ShiftCam we’ve seen for the first time on the maxitrail R1250GS. The weight is now under 200 kg wet, illumination is full LED, four riding modes and other usual riding aids like quick shift and Race ABS with cornering function.
BMW Motorrad will take the covers off the S1000RR during the EICMA Milan motorcycle show, but we suspect the “WOW” factor has been lost since we already know how the bike will look like in its production form.
