MV Agusta F4 Claudio is the best tribute to Claudio Castiglioni

MV Agusta F4 Claudio is the best tribute to Claudio Castiglioni

The iconic Italian superbike F4 might be nearing the end of its life, with MV Agusta already working on the next generation of this model that makes so many motorcyclists dream, but the current F4 still has some breath of life in her, and the new limited edition F4 Claudio is the perfect example of what MV Agusta can do.

Designed as a tribute to the late Claudio Castiglioni, MV Agusta owner since beginning of the 90’s and responsible, together with Massimo Tamburini, for the creation of the first F4, the new special version F4 Claudio bring the current generation F4 to a whole new level in terms of bike exotica.

This isn’t the first F4 to get the name and signature of Claudio Castiglioni. In 2008, MV Agusta released what was then the most expensive motorcycle for sale to the public, the F4 CC. But this new F4 Claudio is even more wild!

All of its bodywork is done in carbon fiber, the same material used on the wheels that are sourced from carbon fiber specialists BST. The new F4 Claudio features the best components used in the superbike segment, including race spec Öhlins suspensions and Brembo newest caliper, the Stylema.

The inline-four engine receives some much needed attention from the MV Agusta engineers in Varese, and following a rebalanced and lightened crankshaft, the use of titanium con-rods, revised intake ports and the use of an exclusive full titanium SC Project exhaust system, the F4 Claudio cranks out 212 hp in race trim, while the street version will develop “only” 205 hp.

MV Agusta developed a special electronics package, including all the usual tricks we’re used to see on the superbike segment, and to top it all up, the F4 Claudio gets a race style AIM dashboard including a GPS tracker so that the rider may choose the best setup for different parts of the track.

MV Agusta hasn’t announced the price of this very exquisite version F4 Claudio, but this is in fact a limited and numbered edition, 200 examples will be built, so expect the price tag to be high.

With more than ten years as a motorcycle journalist, i enjoy everything that has to do with two-wheels. I'm a fan of sport bikes and i prefer riding them on a racetrack, but give me a road filled with corners and good asphalt and i'll be there to have some fun!
