Ride Vision allow riders to detect threats with 360º Predictive Vision

Ride Vision allow riders to detect threats with 360º Predictive Vision

Israel’s Ride Vision has come up with the world’s first Collision Aversion Technology giving motorcycles 360º Predictive Vision. This provides for the safety of riders and the people surrounding them as it basically does what it is made for- avoiding collisions. The startup’s idea as backed by YL Ventures with a total of $2.5M funding (RM9.95M).

The concept of safety has been a great concern in the automotive industry and has been recently intensified with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) and technologies developed to prevent collisions. ADAS had evolved to be a core feature in modern vehicles. In the industry, the concern with the two-wheel sector is much greater considering statistics of fatalities have a staggering result. Safety has been the priority of manufacturers when producing a motorcycle.

Due to that, Ride Vision has produced a way to overcome the inconvenience in life-saving solutions for motorcycles. The Collision Aversion Technology (CAT) is said to be a fusion of a neural network based deep learning platform and computer vision that enables and accurate, affordable, life-saving solution for any motorcycle. CAT sensors detect threats beyond the rider’s sight, predict risk and highlight any relevant threat to the rider, all within 100s milliseconds- which is an excellent product. It gives riders a 360º vision and protection without distracting the rider’s focus.

“While ADAS accident prevention technologies have become standard in cars, there is great potential to solve this problem for the underserved motorcycle market that accounts for 17% of all driver and passenger traffic fatalities,” said Yoav Leitersdorf, managing partner at YL Ventures. “Uri and Lior are a very strong team and avid riders themselves, uniquely poised to serve this great market challenge with cutting-edge computer vision and deep learning.”

“Motorbike riders are typically coordinated, alert and very much in tune with the road. We have a special relationship with the road, but unfortunately many factors beyond our control increase risk of collision and the high speed, lightweight, fully exposed nature of the bike makes collisions more dangerous,” explained Uri Lavi, CEO & Co-Founder of Ride Vision. “As riders ourselves, we decided to apply our deep learning and advanced vision technology expertise to overcome the cost and technological challenges required to bring any motorbikes and their riders the ability to see, predict and prevent collisions with technology smart enough to leverage standard hardware and cameras, delivering warning signals within 100 milliseconds, without disturbing the rider’s focus.”

“The company’s vision-based collision avoidance system will enable a whole new era for motorcycles, increasing their safety and providing an improved riding experience. We are thrilled to join their journey to become leader in this first of many highly attractive markets for their groundbreaking Collision Aversion Technology,” Leitersdorf added.

The CAT is certainly a groundbreaking outcome of technology that is useful and life-changing. It will help detect more accidents without interrupting riders in action. It is truly a magnificent idea.
