Ducati made a significant splash at the 2024 London Bike Shed Motorshow with the introduction of two innovative concept bikes: the CR24I and the RR24I. These models showcase Ducati’s continued commitment to blending heritage and modernity. The CR24I embraces the classic Café Racer aesthetic and the RR24I ventures into Scrambler territory. While the technical specifics of these concept bikes remain under wraps, Ducati has yet to confirm if these bikes will transition from concept to production.

CR24I: A Modern Nod to Classic Café Racers

The CR24I stands out with its clear inspiration from the Café Racer tradition. Featuring a 17-inch front rim equipped with road tyres, the bike promises agility and performance. The sporty clip-on handlebars are adorned with bar-end mirrors, enhancing both the bike’s aerodynamic profile and its retro appeal.

A prominent feature is the tank-mounted fairing. It is coupled with a narrow, wrap-around design that evokes memories of iconic Ducati models like the Pantah and the 750 SS. This blend of past and present continues with the single-seat saddle. This includes a detachable passenger cover, echoing the ‘panettone’ saddles found on 1970s sports bikes. This design element not only adds a vintage charm but also enhances the bike’s versatility.

RR24I: A Scrambler with Post-Apocalyptic Flair

In contrast, the RR24I concept takes inspiration from minimalist and functional aesthetics. It is akin to designs seen in post-apocalyptic movies and TV series. This model features spoked wheels with robust Pirelli Scorpion Rally tyres. This makes it well-suited for both urban commuting and off-road adventures.

One of the standout elements of the RR24I is its removable passenger seat. It can be converted into a storage space for luggage, enhancing its practicality for long rides. The inclusion of a Termignoni exhaust not only adds to the bike’s rugged look but also promises a thrilling auditory experience.

Ducati’s Tribute to Ayrton Senna

Adding to the excitement at the show, Ducati also unveiled a limited edition Monster motorcycle in honour of the legendary Formula 1 driver Ayrton Senna. This special edition bike features a livery inspired by the Brazilian flag, celebrating Senna’s heritage and his illustrious career. Only 341 units of the Monster Senna will be produced. The number pays homage to Senna’s three World Championships and 41 Grand Prix victories.

The Monster Senna edition reflects the deep connection between Ducati and Senna, who was an early owner of the Monster 900. This tribute not only celebrates Senna’s legacy but also underscores Ducati’s tradition of creating motorcycles that resonate with passionate riders and motorsport enthusiasts alike.

The Future of Ducati’s Concept Bikes

Ducati enthusiasts eagerly await further details on the CR24I and RR24I. These concept bikes have already sparked considerable interest and speculation. Whether these models will enter production remains to be seen. Their debut at the London Bike Shed Motorshow highlights Ducati’s innovative spirit and dedication to pushing the boundaries of motorcycle design.

As the motorcycle world watches closely, Ducati’s latest concepts promise a thrilling glimpse into the brand’s potential future. These bikes merge classic inspirations with modern technology and aesthetics.
