KTM has just officially introduced the 2023 KTM 890 SMT for the global market a few months after the new model was seen undergoing testing in Europe.
As previously reported, the KTM 890 SMT features the same 889cc LC8c parallel-twin engine found on the KTM 890 Adventure but offers higher power and torque with 105hp and 100Nm.
In addition, KTM also redesigned the part of the tank which is now slimmer. This gives the rider a more aggressive riding position.
The aerodynamics of the KTM 890 SMT are also improved with a lower wind barrier and a ‘splash guard’ located on the front fork. WP APEX suspension paired with 17-inch rims also contributes to a more responsive ride.
According to KTM, the 890 SMT also comes with several riding modes including a special setting for the racetrack that allows the rider to deactivate the 10-level traction control system as needed.
In addition, the KTM 890 SMT is also equipped with Cornering Motorcycle Traction Control (MTC) which controls the degree of motorcycle tilt on the road/circuit. In the meantime, this new model is also equipped with a 5-inch anti-scratch TFT meter panel.
KTM also offers several additional features including Motor Slip Regulation (MSR) which improves motorcycle control when riding on surfaces with less grip in addition to faster low gear changes. KTM also offers Quickshifter+ and Cruise Control packages as additional options.
