Starting from the second row, Marquez wasted no time slicing through the field. By lap six, he had taken the lead and never looked back, expertly managing the pace to fend off Marco Bezzecchi and gradually breaking away in the final laps. The win not only adds another 37 points to his championship tally but also further solidifies his hold on the standings, where he now leads with 370 points, 68 ahead of his brother Alex Marquez.

“I wasn’t the fastest out there, but I rode smart,” said Marquez post-race. “It’s special to match Agostini’s record. The team worked tirelessly all weekend — this win belongs to them as much as it does to me.”

Meanwhile, teammate Francesco Bagnaia showed glimpses of his championship-winning form. Leading the opening laps, Bagnaia later dropped back but clawed his way to third, setting the fastest lap in the process. While still not fully able to challenge for the win, the reigning world champion was pleased with the progress.

“I finally felt like I could fight for it,” Bagnaia said. “It’s just hard to close the last few tenths to the guy in front. We’re still missing something, but this is a step in the right direction.”

Luigi Dall’Igna, Ducati Corse General Manager, echoed the optimism: “Marc was outstanding today, and Pecco showed the pace he’s capable of. It was a weekend that underlines the strength of this team.”

With ten rounds completed, Ducati leads both the team and manufacturer standings convincingly, with 488 and 356 points respectively. The series now heads to Sachsenring for Round 11, where Marquez will look to extend his remarkable run and Ducati aims to tighten its grip on both titles.

Next stop: Sachsenring – 11 July. The championship fight rolls on.
