This weekend saw around 950 motorcycle enthusiasts gather around for two days for the 23rd birthday of the Magpie Madness motorcycle rally in Winchester.
The rally commenced on Friday afternoon and ended early Sunday morning.
According to Timaru Temuka And Geraldine (TTAG) motorcycle club president Shayne Sargent, there had been a stream of younger members in the club.
“There was some doubt which was down to a bit of internal politics,” Sargent said.
“Organising the event is a massive undertaking and some of the members did not want to continue it as it ties up more than just a weekend.
“We have to start planning for it in July.”
Also, entry fees collected at the gate would contribute to running costs and will be donated to charities.
“There were no negative comments, everybody enjoyed themselves and they were well behaved.”
“We had positive feedback and they will get back to us in a week or so with their feedback.”
