Öhlins Asia Co., Ltd. has announced that the all-new Öhlins SD20 Steering Damper is now officially available across Asia. Following its recent global launch, the SD20 can now be purchased through authorised Öhlins retailers throughout the region.

The SD20 is designed to enhance motorcycle stability and rider confidence in a wide range of riding conditions. Steering dampers help reduce high-frequency disturbances such as speed wobbles and tank slappers, which can occur during rapid acceleration, uneven road surfaces, or sudden changes in direction. With the SD20, Öhlins brings its latest damper technology to street and supersport riders across Asia.

Asia’s riding environments are diverse, ranging from urban traffic to high-speed highways and winding mountain roads. To meet these demands, the Öhlins SD20 features a larger piston and cylinder compared to previous designs. This allows the damper to generate increased damping force across a wider operating range.

As a result, riders benefit from more consistent steering control and improved front-end stability. The damper remains effective across different speeds and surfaces, helping to maintain predictable handling and smoother feedback during everyday riding as well as spirited performance use.

One of the key features of the SD20 is Öhlins’ exclusive cylinder-valve design, which is derived from the brand’s racing and EC steering damper technologies. Unlike traditional needle-valve systems, this design uses a series of precision-drilled holes inside the cylinder to control oil flow.

This approach allows for quicker adjustment changes and more accurate control of damping force. It also improves sensitivity at both the lower and higher ends of the adjustment range. Riders experience smoother adjustment steps, making it easier to fine-tune the damper to suit different riding styles and road conditions.

In addition to improving stability, the Öhlins SD20 is designed to enhance rider comfort. By reducing unwanted handlebar movement, the damper helps minimise rider fatigue, especially on longer rides or uneven road surfaces.

With its robust construction, refined adjustability, and proven Öhlins performance, the SD20 delivers professional-grade steering control in a compact and reliable package. This ensures that riders across Asia can enjoy the same high level of performance trusted by racers worldwide.

The all-new Öhlins SD20 Steering Damper is now available through authorised Öhlins retailers across Asia.
