It was a flawless performance from Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia Racing) at the Qatar Airways Grand Prix of Portugal, as the Italian rider delivered a masterclass at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, leading all 25 laps from start to finish.

Starting from pole position, Bezzecchi immediately pulled away from the pack, setting an unmatchable pace that no rival could match. The Aprilia Racing rider crossed the line more than two seconds ahead of his nearest competitor, cementing his hold on third place in the 2025 MotoGP World Championship standings with 323 points, now 35 points clear of fourth place heading into the season finale in Valencia.

“I am extremely happy. It was a brilliant race,” said Bezzecchi after his dominant win. “I started well and managed to get out front straight away. We worked late into the night to find something extra, and this morning in warm-up, I knew I could fight at the front. It was a great race and a great day. A huge thank you to all of Aprilia.”

Behind Bezzecchi, Alex Márquez (BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP) held firm under pressure from Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) to complete the podium. The result marked a reshuffle from Saturday’s Sprint Race, proving once again how quickly fortunes can change in MotoGP.

Following Bezzecchi’s victory, Aprilia Racing also mathematically secured second place in the Constructors’ Championship with 387 points, their best-ever finish in MotoGP history. The 2025 season has been a breakthrough year for the Noale-based manufacturer, recording three victories so far: Bezzecchi at Silverstone and Portimão, and Raúl Fernández at Phillip Island.

Meanwhile, Lorenzo Savadori continued Aprilia’s RS-GP25 development programme, finishing sixteenth, gathering valuable data for the team’s 2026 preparations. Another standout performer was Ai Ogura (Trackhouse MotoGP Team), who fought his way from twelfth on the grid to an impressive seventh place, marking another RS-GP25 inside the points.

Rounding out the top ten were Luca Marini (Honda HRC Castrol), Jack Miller (Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP), Alex Rins (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP), home hero Miguel Oliveira (Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP), and Nicolo Bulega (Ducati Lenovo Team) who scored points in his MotoGP debut.

With one round remaining in Valencia, Aprilia celebrates its most successful MotoGP campaign yet and Marco Bezzecchi’s latest triumph stands as the crown jewel of a historic season.
