The celebrations of Yamaha Motor Company’s 70th anniversary will reach a new milestone this weekend at the final round of the 2025 FIM Superbike World Championship in Jerez, where Yamaha’s factory and supported teams will proudly showcase a special 70th anniversary livery during Sunday’s races.
The Pata Maxus Yamaha WorldSBK Official Team, GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team, and Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing WorldSSP Team are all set to take to the track in red and white anniversary colours, paying tribute to Yamaha’s racing heritage. The design draws inspiration from the iconic 1999 YZF-R7, one of the most memorable machines in Yamaha’s storied racing history.

A Tribute to Yamaha’s Racing Legacy
Both the R1 WorldSBK and R9 WorldSSP bikes will feature these commemorative colours during Sunday’s WorldSBK and WorldSSP Race 2, symbolising seven decades of innovation, passion, and performance. To complement the striking livery, Yamaha riders will also wear custom-made racing leathers created especially for this celebration.
The special edition colours were officially unveiled on Thursday during a dedicated photo shoot at Jerez, offering media and fans a first look at the stunning new design ahead of the weekend’s season finale.

Pride and Emotion Behind the Colours
Andrea Dosoli, Division Manager of Yamaha Motor Europe, expressed his pride in marking this milestone: “We are all very proud to play our part in Yamaha’s 70th anniversary celebrations by running a special 70th anniversary livery inspired by the 1999 YZF-R7 in both WorldSBK and WorldSSP on Sunday. The R7 was a bike that captured the imaginations of fans all over the world, and of course, was a machine that enjoyed significant success in the Superbike World Championship, so to run these colours here again will be a special moment for us all. Yamaha’s legacy speaks for itself. It is a truly iconic brand, and we are sure that these instantly recognisable colours will evoke emotional memories for a lot of race fans worldwide.”
As Yamaha closes another thrilling WorldSBK season, the 70th Anniversary Livery at Jerez stands as a tribute to the brand’s unmatched heritage in motorsport, uniting the past, present, and future of Yamaha’s racing journey.
