Spain’s Tosha Schareina continues to dominate the Rallye du Maroc, claiming his second consecutive stage win and closing the gap in the overall standings to just 38 seconds. His consistency, speed, and composure across the Moroccan desert have placed him within striking distance of overall leader Daniel Sanders with two stages left to go.

The third stage covered 323 kilometres of timed special, starting just outside Erfoud and traversing a brutal mix of terrain, fast tracks, deep sand, rocky climbs, and the towering Merzouga dunes. Opening the stage after his victory the previous day, Schareina faced the unenviable task of leading the route without tracks to follow. Despite the challenge, he transformed the pressure into pace, maintaining high speed while collecting all available time bonuses.

His early rhythm matched that of teammate Ricky Brabec, who started three minutes behind and used Schareina’s line through the dunes to maintain contact. By the halfway mark, Schareina had cut his overall deficit to Sanders to four seconds.

At 203 km, they were level on time, and by 231 km, the Spaniard edged ahead. In the end, he won the stage by just five seconds, a margin that reflects the razor-thin competition among the frontrunners.

Brabec also delivered another strong ride to take third on the stage, 3’33” behind, maintaining third overall. Meanwhile, Adrien Van Beveren, who began the day feeling under the weather, dug deep to finish fourth, 7’22” off the lead, using the stage to refine his setup and regain confidence ahead of the Dakar Rally.

Schareina said that opening the stage was a challenge but also an achievement. The combination of dunes, rocks, and riverbeds demanded maximum concentration, yet he managed to stay smooth and consistent throughout. He credited his team for continuous bike improvements and confirmed he is determined to keep pushing as the rally heads toward its conclusion.

Brabec described the stage as fast and flowing, adding that both Schareina and Sanders were setting an extremely high pace. He acknowledged that while he remains focused on maintaining his position, the priority now is to stay safe and bring the bike home strong.

Van Beveren, on the other hand, reflected on the day as part of a longer rebuilding process after earlier challenges this season. Though not in peak condition, he remained positive about the progress made on setup and personal form, calling it “a productive day despite the fatigue.”

Ruben Faria, the team’s General Manager, praised the trio’s performance and resilience. He noted that stage three was one of the most complete and demanding of the rally, combining all types of terrain. Schareina’s ability to open and still win demonstrated exceptional form, while Brabec and Van Beveren’s consistent finishes kept the team well-positioned for the overall podium fight.

With only two stages remaining, the Rallye du Maroc is building toward a thrilling conclusion. Tomorrow’s 283 km special will take riders south of Erfoud in another punishing loop of dunes and rocky plains. All eyes will be on Schareina as he once again leads the pack—this time with the possibility of taking the overall lead and sealing one of the most impressive performances of his rally career.
