Will Sepang Deliver MotoGP’s Eighth Winner of 2025?

MotoGP returns to Malaysia for the Petronas Grand Prix at Sepang, with seven different winners so far in 2025. Can an eighth rider take victory this weekend as the battle for podiums and pride heats up in the Malaysian humidity?

MotoGP heads to Malaysia for the Petronas Grand Prix at Sepang after five different winners in five Grands Prix and two new victors in the last two rounds, setting the stage for another twist in a season full of surprises.

Unpredictable as Ever

With Marc Marquez, Jorge Martin, and Maverick Viñales out injured, their replacements Michele Pirro, Lorenzo Savadori, and Pol Espargaro shake up the grid once again. The title is settled, but Alex Marquez (BK8 Gresini) is closing in on a Marquez family 1–2, while Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia) remains his biggest threat after two strong weekends.

The Fight Behind

Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo) looks to bounce back at a track where he’s twice been victorious, but Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Factory) and Fabio Di Giannantonio (VR46 Racing) are right on his tail in the points.

New Winners Rising

Recent breakout stars Fermin Aldeguer and Raul Fernandez arrive brimming with confidence. Aldeguer knows Sepang well after his Moto2 win there in 2023, while Fernandez continues his hot streak after victory in Australia. Fabio Quartararo returns to a venue where Yamaha has traditionally excelled, hoping for redemption.

Ones to Watch

Enea Bastianini, last year’s Sepang GP winner, could challenge again, while Brad Binder, Luca Marini, and Alex Rins all bring strong momentum. Meanwhile, Franco Morbidelli and Johann Zarco aim to recover lost ground, and local favourite Somkiat Chantra seeks points at home.

With the 2025 season producing seven different winners so far, Sepang could once again rewrite the record books. Will we see an eighth? Tune in this weekend to find out.
