The 2025 MotoGP season continues its extra-European tour with the Malaysian Grand Prix at the Petronas Sepang International Circuit, before heading back to Europe for the final two races of the year. Marco Bezzecchi and Lorenzo Savadori, standing in for Jorge Martín, are both ready for action in what will be the twentieth round of the season.

Marco Bezzecchi arrives in Malaysia with confidence and motivation. The Italian rider is coming off an outstanding weekend at Phillip Island, where he claimed victory in the Sprint Race and finished third in the main race. These strong results have propelled him to third place in the overall championship standings with 282 points. His goal in Sepang is clear, to keep the momentum going and close out the overseas tour with another top result.

Joining him on the grid is Lorenzo Savadori, who will once again step in for Jorge Martín, still recovering from a right collarbone injury sustained at Motegi. Savadori will use the Malaysian round to continue his important development work on the RS-GP25, gathering data and feedback in a real race environment.

The Sepang International Circuit, located around 50 kilometers from Kuala Lumpur, is one of the most iconic venues on the MotoGP calendar. It has been part of the championship since 1999 and stretches 5.54 kilometers, making it the second-longest circuit in the series. With its 15 corners, 10 right-handers and 5 left-handers, and a mix of fast straights and tight braking zones, Sepang challenges both riders and machines, especially under Malaysia’s hot and humid conditions.

Marco Bezzecchi

“I’m extremely happy to be returning to Sepang. It’s a track where I’ve already ridden during the pre-season tests, so we have some good references. I’m curious to see how the bike feels now after all the work we’ve done this year. We had an amazing weekend in Phillip Island, and the goal is to keep that same energy here in Malaysia. I can’t wait to get back on track.”

Lorenzo Savadori

“Malaysia is a very different track from Phillip Island, with hotter and tougher conditions. We’ll continue working on the RS-GP25, following the tests we started in Australia, to keep improving the bike. I’m really looking forward to this weekend and, as always, I’ll give my best from the first session.”
