Just days after the curtain closed on the 2025 WorldSBK season, Honda HRC returned to work with an intensive two-day test at Spain’s Jerez Circuit on 21–22 October. The factory team continued its preparations for 2026, gathering vital data and feedback despite the absence of its newly signed riders Somkiat Chantra and Jake Dixon, who remain committed to their ongoing MotoGP and Moto2 campaigns.
In their place, Honda enlisted three riders from across the Honda racing family: WorldSSP rider Corentin Perolari, 2026 British Superbike contender Ryan Vickers, and EWC racer Alan Techer. The trio shared testing duties aboard the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade, providing fresh perspectives and valuable technical insights for the team’s development program.

Although intermittent rain delayed Tuesday’s start, conditions improved enough for all three riders to complete close to 120 laps over the two days. The focus was on establishing a comfortable base setup and gathering data on handling, stability, and electronics performance under varying conditions.
For Ryan Vickers, it marked his first experience on the Honda Superbike — a significant step ahead of his BSB campaign. Perolari and Techer also provided key input drawn from their WorldSSP and endurance backgrounds, giving Honda a well-rounded range of feedback.

“Having different riders with varied experience levels helps us better understand the strengths and areas for improvement of the bike,” a Honda HRC representative noted. “Their feedback will be extremely useful as we continue our development work through the winter.”
The test marked another important step in Honda’s ongoing push to return to the sharp end of the WorldSBK grid. With its 2026 lineup soon to join testing duties, the team’s focus now shifts to further refining the CBR1000RR-R ahead of next season’s official pre-season tests.
